An intense and fruitful week spent at the CBK Zeeland in Middelburg, punctuated by the solar eclipse. I took a pile of material, some of which I had just made in collaboration with the TextielLab, the professional workshop of the TextielMuseum Tilburg. I also invited linguist and author Hannah Booth ("North Sea Nexus" Substack) to spend  a day with me to see if we could forge allusive and alluding texts from different languages associated with the ground bordering the North Sea and its histories; the scientific language of the cooperative relationhip between plants and fungal networks in the soil; languages of  creative expression; and that week's specific moment.  DRY and DARK were written in few heatwave hours.
